Baseball/Softball

Commissioner Rich Fisher

Season April through the end of the school year

Boys Ages 6 to 17

Girls Ages 6 to 16

The chairperson conducts registration on the first two weeks of February on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. There is a skills day for children 8 and up on the last weekend of February/first weekend of March. The Prettyboy Baseball/Softball chairperson works with the Baseball/Softball chairpersons from Sparks, 5th, and 7th to develop game schedules. Utilizing those who have volunteered to coach the teams, the chairperson organizes the teams. Having organized the teams, games, and given the coaches practice times, the season begins the first week of April with practices. Opening day is the last Saturday of April with our own in house “Opening Day”. The regular season begins the Monday after opening day and runs through the end of the school year. Games are played after school and on Saturdays at Prettyboy, Sparks, 5th, and 7th. During the Baseball/Softball season the concession stand is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The season concludes on the last week of school.

For the past three years we have run an informal pickup league from mid-June to the end of July. It runs on Wednesday evenings from 6 to dark and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. until noon. We gear it towards 8 year olds and up, but clinic kids have played. We have tried for years to get more girls to join, but have had little luck. We have 4 fields and typically have used only 2 fields on any given day. There is not fee and anyone who comes plays.

Concession Stand

Commissioner – Deb Smith

Weeknights during Baseball/Softball

The concession stand is open to serve food to the families participating in outdoor soccer and baseball/softball. For baseball/softball the concession stand is open from 5:45 until about 8 when the last game concludes. For outdoor soccer the concession stand is open on Saturdays from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Two adults are needed to work in the concessions stand serving hot dogs, sodas, candies, and other goodies. All proceeds go to the recreation council to support the programs. The chairperson buys all the food items and supplies and coordinates volunteers to work in the concession stand.
